Job Description

Apartment Life is a unique community-focused organization dedicated to enhancing the living experience within apartment communities by fostering a welcoming environment and creating meaningful connections among residents and staff. Apartment Life operates with a mission-minded approach that combines business excellence with a heart for ministry. The organization is passionate about blending excellent event planning, compassionate communication, and genuine care to cultivate vibrant apartment communities where residents feel valued and connected. With a commitment to providing radical hospitality and acts of kindness, Apartment Life creates opportunities for residents to experience a sense of belonging and to witness unconditional love in a tangible way.

The Events and Ministry Coordinator role is vital within Apartment Life's mission to create an excellent Apartment Life (AL) experience. This paid position offers an opportunity for individuals who are passionate about community engagement, event planning, and ministry to make a meaningful impact in their apartment communities. Coordinators are expected to work up to 16 hours per month and are responsible for planning and hosting events that foster relationships among residents, staff, and the broader community. This role goes beyond traditional event coordination, emphasizing a mission-focused approach that blends spiritual care with social connection. Coordinators contribute to the creation of an atmosphere where residents experience care, support, and connection, ultimately enhancing the overall community culture.

The role includes responsibilities such as planning and executing two events each month designed to nurture resident connection and encourage engagement with local services and businesses. Coordinators use their interpersonal skills to build strong relationships within the community and deploy marketing strategies that include creating event flyers, monthly calendars, and social media outreach to boost residents’ involvement. They also manage event budgets and produce monthly reports, ensuring operational effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals. Collaboration with staff and program directors is crucial for continuous improvement and development in the role. Additionally, coordinators are encouraged to engage volunteers, vendors, and community partners to expand their network of support and maximize the impact of events.

This role is ideal for individuals who are mission-driven, enjoy meeting new people, and excel in a social and planning capacity. It requires a blend of creativity, organization, and heartfelt ministry, appealing to those who see their work as a form of business ministry — combining excellence in execution with a genuine love for their neighbors. Coordinators must be responsible, relational, and committed to providing a high level of care and hospitality. The position offers the flexibility to serve in either onsite or offsite capacities, catering to different availabilities and living situations, with varying time commitments and compensation structures. Whether living onsite or serving offsite, coordinators play a key role in shaping a connected, supportive, and vibrant apartment community experience, making a tangible difference in the lives of residents.
