Job Description

Apartment Life is a mission-driven organization dedicated to enhancing the experience of residents living in apartment communities across the United States. Apartment Life coordinators play a pivotal role in cultivating a vibrant, connected, and supportive apartment environment through excellent event planning, personal communication, and genuine care. This organization operates at the intersection of business and ministry, emphasizing radical hospitality and community care to impact residents' lives deeply. By integrating these values with professional excellence, Apartment Life creates an atmosphere where residents feel valued, connected, and encouraged to build relationships within their community. The company offers two distinct types of coordinator positions – onsite and offsite – to accommodate different schedules and lifestyles. Onsite coordinators serve their assigned apartment communities for 16 to 20 hours per week and live onsite for a reduced rent amount, offering them the opportunity to be highly immersed in community life. Offsite coordinators, by contrast, contribute 3 to 9 hours weekly, do not reside onsite, and are compensated with an hourly wage, making this option flexible for individuals balancing other commitments. Both positions share a commitment to the core principles summed up as Care, Connect, and Call: caring for residents by creating welcoming environments, connecting them to one another and local resources, and calling others to join in this mission of community building. As a coordinator, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and executing between 2 to 4 engaging events monthly, designed to foster resident interaction and community involvement. These events help residents feel cared for and connected not just within their apartment complex but also with the broader surrounding community. Coordinators also play a crucial role in enhancing the apartment community's online reputation by encouraging residents to share their positive experiences through various online platforms. In addition, coordinators develop marketing materials such as monthly calendars, event flyers, and social media content that effectively communicate community events and activities. Budget management is another key component of the role, requiring you to oversee event costs and prepare monthly summaries that track participation and impact. Regular collaboration with property staff and the Apartment Life program director helps ensure that coordinators stay equipped, supported, and aligned with organizational goals. Engagement with a network of volunteers, vendors, and community partners further amplifies the coordinator's ability to provide meaningful events and services. Visiting new residents shortly after they move in and checking in with those nearing lease completion are important relationship-building activities that help strengthen connections and community retention.

Apartment Life is seeking committed, relational, and responsible individuals who resonate with its mission to express God’s unconditional love through hospitality and service. Coordinators should enjoy meeting new people, planning social activities, and embracing the role of community connector and caregiver. This position requires flexibility to work primarily in the evenings and on weekends when most residents are home, and it demands physical ability to engage fully with the job duties, including carrying materials and using stairs. While previous event planning experience, budget management skills, and familiarity with social media are preferred, they are not mandatory, as the organization values a heart for service alongside practical competencies.Show Less
