The Battle Creek Battle Jacks are a dynamic baseball team competing in the Northwoods League, a successful collegiate summer baseball league known for showcasing top talent while providing affordable, family-friendly entertainment. Based in Battle Creek, Michigan, the Battle Jacks have quickly grown their presence under the new ownership of Southpaw Ventures, establishing a reputation for elevating the fan experience through innovative game day operations, hospitality, and community engagement. Playing at MCCU Field at Bailey Park, the team’s focus is on creating memorable events that combine competitive baseball with engaging entertainment, theme nights, and sponsor activations that cater to a broad audience ranging from local families to passionate sports fans. As a community-driven organization, the Battle Jacks seek to foster a welcoming atmosphere that emphasizes creativity, connection, and fun during the summer season.

The Seasonal Events & Game Day Coordinator role is an exciting opportunity for an early-career professional who is passionate about sports, live entertainment, and fan engagement. This seasonal full-time position running from May through August provides hands-on experience coordinating game presentations, themed events, concerts, and sponsor activities, all aimed at delivering a high-energy, professional experience for attendees. The Coordinator will be an essential operational leader, working closely with various departments including marketing, ticketing, hospitality, and community engagement, facilitating communication and execution across these teams. Additionally, the position includes managing seasonal interns and game day staff, ensuring that all events run smoothly and efficiently.

Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in sports, live events, hospitality, entertainment, or event operations preferred
  • internship experience in sports or entertainment will be considered

  • positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to lead from the front
  • comfortable working nights, weekends, holidays, and all battle jacks home games
  • ability to work outdoors and assist with physical event setup when needed

Job Duties

  • assist in the execution of all battle jacks home games and special events
  • coordinate theme nights, giveaways, concerts, and fan engagement activations
  • help manage game day timelines, run-of-show documents, and operational communication
  • serve as a lead operational contact during games and events
  • ensure all event spaces, activation areas, and hospitality spaces are guest-ready and professionally executed
  • assist with setup, teardown, signage, inventory, and event logistics
  • coordinate sponsor activations and ensure partnership obligations are executed properly
