Job Description
Guthrie Green is a vibrant, community-focused public space and event venue located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The space is designed to offer a blend of cultural, recreational, and entertainment programming in an inviting outdoor setting. Guthrie Green is managed with a commitment to creating inclusive and engaging experiences for all visitors, regularly hosting events that range from concerts and community festivals to educational programs and public celebrations. The venue operates with a focus on community engagement, fostering partnerships with local artists, producers, and organizations to cultivate a space that draws a diverse audience. The venue encompasses not only Guthrie Green itself but also includes LowDown, a complementary space that offers unique event and program opportunities. Together, these spaces provide a dynamic environment that supports cultural expression and community connection while emphasizing high standards of guest experience, safety, and operational excellence.
The role of the Events & Experience Manager at Guthrie Green and LowDown is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of public-facing events and guest experience initiatives. This position requires a strategic and hands-on approach to managing event planning, coordination, and execution to ensure that all events are seamless, well-organized, and aligned with the organizational mission and quality standards. The manager plays a key role in collaborating with multiple departments including Creative Production, Talent Booking, Marketing, and Facilities, ensuring that artistic, technical, and operational elements are integrated into cohesive and memorable guest experiences. This role also entails supervising the events team and support staff, providing leadership, training, and operational guidance to maintain excellence.
Importantly, the Events & Experience Manager is tasked with enhancing the guest experience through thoughtful design and continuous evaluation of programs, making sure that every event or activation is welcoming, accessible, and enjoyable for a diverse audience. The manager is responsible for budget oversight, contract management, and maintaining operational readiness of the venues, balancing creativity with strong fiscal discipline and attention to logistical detail. This position often requires working evenings, weekends, and holidays to support the full schedule of events and programming which makes flexibility essential.
The manager's responsibilities extend beyond event days and include ongoing venue presentation and maintenance, coordinating with various teams to keep Guthrie Green and LowDown spaces safe, attractive, and prepared for all activities. The role demands strong communication skills, leadership capabilities, and a problem-solving mindset to handle the dynamic environment and evolving needs of public events. The Events & Experience Manager also plays a crucial role as an organizational ambassador, representing Guthrie Green’s values and ensuring that every touchpoint with visitors reflects the venue's commitment to excellence and community engagement.
This role is safety-sensitive and requires a negative result on a comprehensive drug screening prior to employment. Candidates must demonstrate a professional demeanor, the ability to work under pressure, and the capacity to lead a diverse team to achieve a high level of operational success and guest satisfaction.
