Job Description
IndyHumane is a respected nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of animals through compassionate care, innovative programs, and community engagement. Established with a mission to promote animal welfare, IndyHumane serves as a vital resource in the Indianapolis area, providing shelter, adoption services, education, and advocacy to improve the well-being of animals and encourage responsible pet ownership. With a strong commitment to collaboration and community involvement, IndyHumane works tirelessly to build a more humane society where every animal is treated with kindness and respect.
The Events & Corporate Partnerships Manager at IndyHumane plays a pivotal role in advancing this mission by driving revenue, engagement, and long-term relationships through carefully crafted events and corporate partnerships. This full-time position is responsible for developing and executing a cohesive strategy that encompasses fundraising events and a robust corporate partnership program. The manager oversees all fundraising and stewardship events, including one to two signature fundraising occasions, and additional donor stewardship events designed to deepen connections between IndyHumane and its supporters.
This role requires a strategic thinker with strong project management skills to coordinate multiple events and partnerships simultaneously. The manager is accountable for creating and managing event timelines and budgets, ensuring that activities adhere to schedules and financial targets. Coordination of logistics such as venue selection, vendor agreements, volunteer management, staffing, and run-of-show planning is essential to the successful execution of events. A close partnership with the Development and Communications teams is vital to maintain consistent messaging, branding, and acknowledgment of sponsors across various event collateral.
Furthermore, the position calls for a corporate partnerships strategist who collaborates with the Chief Development Officer to devise and implement a comprehensive corporate partnership strategy aligned with fundraising goals. This includes identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding corporate partners through sponsorships, year-round engagement, and corporate giving programs. Responsibilities extend to building and managing a corporate sponsorship pipeline, developing tiered sponsorship packages tailored to partner objectives, and overseeing matching gift and workplace giving initiatives.
Collaboration with the Volunteer Manager is necessary to organize corporate volunteer engagement opportunities, enhancing the relationship with corporate partners by involving their employees in meaningful volunteer experiences. Stewardship efforts focus on encouraging renewal, growth, and long-term commitment from corporate partners, ensuring sustainability and ongoing support for IndyHumane's programs.
Cross-functional collaboration is a key aspect of this role, involving close work with Development leadership to align events and partnerships with broader fundraising strategies. The manager also partners with program and operations teams to develop meaningful engagement opportunities for corporate partners, ensuring their involvement is impactful and aligned with IndyHumane's mission. Consistent stewardship, recognition, and reporting for sponsors and partners are mandatory to maintain strong relationships and transparency.
The manager supports donor and sponsor communications related to events and partnerships and participates fully in Development team and all-staff meetings. Additional duties and special projects may be assigned as needed, illustrating the dynamic and integral nature of this role within IndyHumane.
This role is ideal for a motivated professional with 3-5 years or more of experience in nonprofit fundraising, events management, and corporate partnerships. Candidates should demonstrate a successful track record in securing corporate sponsorships and managing fundraising events, coupled with excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills. Experience working with donor databases and CRM systems is required, along with a comfort level in handling revenue goals, budgeting, and performance tracking. Above all, a passion for animal welfare and a commitment to IndyHumane's mission are essential for success and fulfillment in this position. IndyHumane is an Equal Opportunity Employer and embraces diversity and inclusion within its workforce.
