Job Description

St. Francis Yacht Club, founded in 1927, is a prestigious private yacht club located adjacent to San Francisco's Marina District, boasting over 90 years of rich yachting traditions. The club is renowned as a premier center for boating activities regionally and a leader internationally in yachting. It honors the spirit of camaraderie, sportsmanship, tradition, and the maritime heritage of San Francisco, providing an exceptional environment for both competitive sailing and social engagement. The club hosts one of the world’s most active annual regatta schedules, leveraging the Bay’s unique conditions including wind, current, and weather to offer exciting and challenging sailing experiences. Members enjoy access to a stunning clubhouse featuring deep-water guest docks, outstanding dining amenities, inviting bars, and spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay. St. Francis Yacht Club also offers a private 40-acre island retreat on Tinsley Island, approximately 60 miles up the Delta, which serves as a year-round getaway destination with lodging, dockage, a swimming pool, and a fleet of small boats for member use, all in a relaxed, rustic setting.

The role of Catering and Events Coordinator at St. Francis Yacht Club is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Director of Catering and Events with a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $90,000 plus bonus. The Coordinator is responsible for the meticulous planning, organization, and execution of club events and catering services that uphold the club’s traditions and esteemed standards. This role involves working closely with members to ensure their event expectations are exceeded through a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. As a key liaison, the Coordinator collaborates with various internal teams such as culinary, food and beverage, race, and front desk departments, as well as approved external vendors, to orchestrate flawless events that contribute to the club’s reputation for gracious hospitality. The position demands a strategic balance of exceptional guest experience management, effective event planning and operational execution, and strong communication skills to maintain the club’s culture, member satisfaction, and fiscal responsibility. Responsibilities include assisting with club events and regattas, managing event reservations and billing, menu development in partnership with culinary teams, event pricing strategy, and ensuring all logistical elements from room setup to food service meet the highest standards. The successful candidate will play a vital role in sustaining St. Francis Yacht Club's prestigious standing in the yachting and hospitality community by delivering memorable and seamless member experiences while adhering to all club policies and health regulations.
