Renowned for its over 90 years of tradition, the club serves as an inspirational center of boating activities regionally and is a leader in international yachting. The club's membership has historically included many of the Bay Area's prominent citizens and elite sailors, reflecting a rich maritime heritage along with a commitment to camaraderie and sportsmanship. The club is perched adjacent to the Marina District, offering stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay, making it both a premier nautical and social venue. With its deep-water guest docks, fine dining options, inviting bars, and private party facilities, the club offers a comprehensive and luxurious yachting experience for both members and guests. It has a professional staff dedicated to delivering excellent service, hosting a variety of regattas and events, and maintaining a vibrant social scene. Additionally, St. Francis Yacht Club owns Tinsley Island, a 40-acre private retreat located 60 miles up the Delta, offering an exclusive, rustic getaway featuring lodging, dockage, houseboats, and recreational facilities for year-round enjoyment.

The role of Catering and Events Coordinator at St. Francis Yacht Club is a full-time, exempt position that plays a pivotal role in upholding the club's esteemed reputation. The coordinator will be responsible for the planning, organization, and flawless execution of club functions and catering services, always reflecting the traditions, standards, and unique culture of the club. The coordinator will work alongside various teams including culinary, food and beverage, and other support departments as well as vetted vendors to ensure seamless event execution. Responsibilities include managing event reservations, coordinating menu planning with the Executive Chef, developing pricing strategies that balance member value and club finances, and supporting marquee events such as regattas and social functions. Strong organizational skills are essential as this role involves juggling multiple events and logistics simultaneously. The ability to communicate clearly and build trusted relationships with members and internal teams is critical to success in this position. The club also expects the Catering and Events Coordinator to maintain fiscal responsibility while adhering strictly to club policies and health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all. This role is vital in supporting the club’s mission to foster a welcoming atmosphere for boaters and sailing enthusiasts while celebrating the rich history and culture of San Francisco’s maritime community.
