Situated adjacent to the Marina District, the club’s picturesque clubhouse features deep-water guest docks, excellent dining amenities, inviting bars, and stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay. Dedicated to excellence, the club supports an active annual regatta schedule amidst the challenging and beautiful conditions of San Francisco Bay, attracting seasoned sailors and yachting enthusiasts alike. The club also boasts Tinsley Island, a 40-acre private retreat accessible by water, offering lodging, recreational facilities, and a tranquil getaway for members. St. Francis Yacht Club prides itself on maintaining a professional staff that delivers top-tier hospitality, dining, and event services consistent with the storied tradition and standards of the Club.
The Catering and Events Coordinator role at St. Francis Yacht Club is a full-time, exempt position with competitive pay ranging from $80,000 to $90,000 annually, plus bonuses. Reporting to the Director of Catering and Events, the coordinator plays a vital role in planning, organizing, and executing a wide range of club functions, events, and regattas that reflect the Club’s culture and uphold its distinguished reputation. This position works directly with members to ensure their event expectations are met with utmost professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. The coordinator liaises closely with the culinary team, food and beverage department, and various internal and external stakeholders to deliver seamless events that exemplify gracious hospitality. Responsibilities include managing event reservations, creating menu collaborations with the Executive Chef, coordinating pricing with Club management, and efficiently handling the detailed logistics of each event to achieve operational excellence. The role requires maintaining adherence to club policies, health guidelines, and quality standards while fostering an inviting and memorable experience for members and their guests.
Core competencies for this position include member and guest experience management, where anticipating member needs and managing event flows with poise are essential; organizational execution involving management of timelines and event logistics; strong communication and relationship-building skills, which are critical for cultivating trust and translating member visions into successful events; and operational execution that ensures all event details meet banquet standards with exceptional quality control and problem-solving capabilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a member-service mindset, strong organizational and communication skills, and experience managing multiple events simultaneously. Familiarity with private clubs, catering, or hospitality operations and knowledge of event software is preferred.
The St. Francis Yacht Club values diversity, equity, and inclusion and is committed to creating a welcoming and respectful environment for all members, guests, and employees. By joining the club’s catering and events team, you will contribute to upholding these values while being part of a leading yachting institution recognized internationally for its event excellence and member-centric services. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that combines a rich heritage with outstanding event management challenges, perfect for candidates passionate about hospitality, sailing culture, and delivering extraordinary member experiences.
