The role of a Technician at Encore involves the setup and operation of basic to small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment, ensuring flawless event execution and complete client satisfaction. Reporting directly to an Operations Manager or Director of Event Technology, the Technician plays a critical role in the smooth conduct of audiovisual events. This position is vital to maintaining Encore's reputation for professionalism and high-quality service delivery. Key responsibilities include the accurate and timely setup, operation, and dismantling of audiovisual equipment; providing exemplary customer service; and troubleshooting technical issues during events. The Technician is expected to communicate effectively with clients, meet their needs onsite, and maintain positive relationships that reflect well on the company and its hospitality partners.
Technicians at Encore must possess a solid understanding of the technical aspects related to audiovisual systems, including the ability to use equipment sheets, perform system entries, and engage in revenue-generating up-selling techniques. The role demands strong problem-solving skills to handle equipment challenges promptly and professionally. Job Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Completion of Encore's training and certification requirements
- 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred
- 1 year of audiovisual or equivalent experience preferred
- Valid driver's license if operating company vehicles
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to perform physical activities including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, crawling, kneeling, bending, reaching above head, climbing, grasping
- Availability to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Adherence to appearance guidelines
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments under varying noise levels
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Associate's degree is preferred
- Must meet and complete all training and certification requirements as determined by Encore's Global Learning Training Program
- 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred
- 1 year of audiovisual experience or equivalent in an educational environment is preferred
- Valid driver's license required for operation of company vehicles
- Must have competency in hospitality, ownership, and safety consciousness
- Effective communication skills
Job Duties
- Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment
- Strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers
- Maintains a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication
- Meets with guests on site to ensure that their needs are met and the equipment setup is working properly
- Monitors events and checks in on customers throughout the day
- Understands and fosters the hotel/client relationship
- Demonstrates basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve equipment and software issues
- Handles equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner
- Completes systems entry and paperwork accurately
- Uses equipment sheets to determine equipment scheduled for setup and strike
- Interacts with staff and vendors for equipment
- Utilizes floor up-selling techniques to increase revenue
- Works with clients to finalize invoices
- Completes order entries in Navigator as needed
