Job Description
Encore is a leading global provider of event experiences specializing in delivering high-quality audiovisual and production services at hospitality venues such as hotels and convention centers. With their extensive expertise in technology and event management, Encore supports a diverse range of events from corporate meetings to large scale conferences and entertainment productions. The company is recognized for its commitment to client satisfaction, innovation in event technology, and fostering a dynamic and inclusive work environment for employees. Their technical teams are pivotal in transforming venues into seamlessly executed event spaces with state-of-the-art audiovisual setups and operations. Encore operates with a global outlook but maintains a deep understanding of local market needs, offering customized solutions that exceed client expectations. They prioritize safety, professionalism, and continuous development in their workforce, ensuring that every team member contributes to delivering world-class service.
The role of Technical Specialist at Encore focuses on the technical setup, operation, and management of mid-level production events primarily within hotel or convention center environments. This is a hands-on position requiring proficiency with advanced audiovisual equipment and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently under pressure to guarantee flawless event delivery. The role reports to the Associate Director or Director of Project Management in the assigned area and plays a vital role in ensuring event success through teamwork and technical expertise. Key responsibilities include leading the setup and breakdown processes, supervising other technical staff during events, maintaining equipment inventory and security, and providing excellent customer service to maintain positive client relationships. The Technical Specialist also acts as a mentor and coach to team members, fostering professional growth and technical competence within the group.
This position offers hourly compensation ranging from $25.19 to $32.75, dependent on experience, location, and skill set. Working hours are irregular and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts to meet event demands. The environment involves both indoor hotel spaces and warehouse settings with variable noise levels and occasional exposure to dust and outdoor weather conditions. Physical demands involve lifting equipment up to 50 lbs frequently and the ability to perform repetitive movements such as standing, walking, bending, and climbing as required during event setup and operations. Safety compliance and adherence to dress code guidelines are essential aspects of the role.
Encore is dedicated not only to operational excellence but also to fostering an inclusive culture where diverse perspectives are valued and individuals are empowered to succeed. Employees benefit from ongoing learning opportunities and access to a comprehensive suite of benefits designed to support their well-being and professional growth. The company’s focus on competency-based development ensures team members advance their skills and align with the evolving needs of the industry. The Technical Specialist position is ideal for candidates with a passion for live event technology, strong client service orientation, and a drive for quality execution in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
