Job Description
MITRE is a distinguished not-for-profit organization dedicated to working in the public interest through operating federally funded research and development centers. Our corporation is uniquely positioned to create meaningful, lasting impacts across diverse and critical fields such as cybersecurity, healthcare, aviation, defense, and enterprise transformation. At MITRE, we prioritize both the importance of the mission and the well-being of our employees, fostering an environment where meaningful work intersects with a fulfilling workplace culture. With our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence, MITRE’s community of professionals is actively engaged in addressing some of the nation's most pressing challenges, contributing to a safer, healthier, and more secure society both nationally and globally. Our organization stands out from many standard technology companies due to its public sector focus and its lack of commercial conflicts, enabling us to be entirely mission-driven and impact-focused.
The role available is part of our Event and Protocol Team, a key group responsible for the seamless planning and execution of externally facing events hosted on MITRE's campuses and venues, as well as coordinating visits from high-profile external dignitaries and stakeholders. This position calls for a professional skilled in managing complete event lifecycles, from initial intake through to final execution, ensuring every detail aligns with MITRE's high standards and organizational values. The team works collaboratively across several internal departments, including communications, facilities, security, and catering, to guarantee a professional, polished experience for all participants. Additionally, this role demands expertise in federal and military protocol to maintain the integrity and respect required for official events. This means serving as a primary authority on etiquette, precedence, and protocol related to rank and customs, and preparing MITRE officers and directors effectively ahead of engagements. With an emphasis on strategic project management, budgeting, and exceptional coordination skills, this role not only supports event logistics but also actively participates on-site to troubleshoot and ensure flawless event execution. The position offers an onsite work environment, requiring proactive problem-solving and exceptional professionalism. Salary for this role ranges from $99,200 to $148,800 annually, reflecting the advanced skills, experience, and responsibility required. The role also supports MITRE’s inclusive culture that prioritizes accessibility, career development, and personal well-being, encouraging candidates who want to contribute meaningfully while growing their careers in a supportive, mission-oriented setting.
