Job Description
Rhino Staging, founded in 1991, is an industry-leading company specializing in providing professional, efficient, and safe stagehand labor for live events nationwide. The company is dedicated to a philosophy centered around doing things right and treating people well, which has been fundamental to its success in becoming one of the most respected providers in the staging and production labor industry. Rhino Staging is known for pioneering positive changes within the entertainment sector, committing to integrity, safety, and professional development for all of its crews. Over the years, Rhino has built a reputation for working with major production companies and supplying labor to venues of all sizes, supporting concerts, festivals, corporate events, and more. The company places a strong emphasis on delivering high standards of safety and professionalism to ensure seamless event execution.
As part of its ongoing expansion, Rhino Staging is currently hiring General and Skilled Stagehands to join its growing family in the New York/New Jersey market, with a focus on events in and around Syracuse. This role presents an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude who aspire to contribute to some of the most successful live events in the industry. These on-call positions, classified as W-2 employment, offer flexible hours that may include nights, weekends, and holidays, but do not guarantee a minimum number of hours worked. Candidates with previous industry experience and flexible availability are preferred; however, Rhino Staging also welcomes well-qualified individuals from backgrounds such as general labor, electrical work, or carpentry who are willing to undergo training.
Stagehands play a pivotal role in the setup and breakdown of event staging equipment, contributing directly to the smooth and safe execution of live productions. The work involves physically demanding tasks, including pushing, pulling, and lifting equipment up to 50 pounds, as well as consistent movement involving walking, standing, bending, stooping, and twisting. Stagehands must be prepared to work in various environments, both indoors and outdoors, under diverse weather conditions, while always following company guidelines concerning attire and safety. Effective communication in English is essential, ensuring coordination within the crew and with clients to maintain safety and efficiency.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. They are expected to understand general industry terms and fundamental principles, operate reliably with transportation to event venues, and work cooperatively with teammates and supervisors. Rhino Staging emphasizes building a cohesive, skilled workforce that is adaptable and dedicated to excellence in live event production. As an equal opportunity employer, Rhino fosters an inclusive environment where all qualified applicants, regardless of background or identity, are encouraged to apply. Compensation varies based on work location, skills, experience, and education, aligning with the company's standards for new hires across the United States. Individuals interested in advancing their careers within a dynamic, fast-paced live events industry will find this role both rewarding and challenging.
