The role of Event Staff within Legends Global's Sales & Services department is an on-call, non-exempt position that reports to the Event Manager or Event & Box Office Coordinator. This position is critical in supporting live events by ensuring smooth admission processes and excellent guest service. Event Staff members are responsible for verifying the authenticity of admission tickets, passes, or credentials, using both manual and computerized methods such as ticket scanners and turnstiles. They must accurately collect and account for tickets and passes, handle cash and credit card transactions with precision, and provide courteous and effective communication to guests regarding event specifics, facilities, and local information.

Beyond ticket verification, Event Staff duties may include working as coat check attendants, managing the sale and distribution of parking passes, and maintaining a safe and orderly environment at the venue. The role demands professionalism, accurate cash handling skills, attention to detail, and adherence to company procedures and dress codes. This position also requires a strong customer service orientation, the ability to enforce event access policies tactfully, and a proactive mindset in observing and reporting facility conditions to enhance event operations.

Physical demands for this role include standing or sitting for extended periods, the ability to lift or move objects up to 10 pounds, and working under various weather conditions when events are held outdoors. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18 years old, and hold a valid Michigan Driver’s License or identification card. Strong communication skills, basic math and computer literacy, and a cooperative, professional attitude are essential. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Verify authenticity of admission tickets, passes or credentials by reading and/or using computerized equipment
  • Collect tickets, passes or credentials for event admission accurately
  • Provide an accurate accounting of tickets or passes collected using ticketing scanners, turnstiles, or hand counting
  • Determine when to deny access to an event as instructed by management
  • Serve as coat check attendant by receiving cash, issuing tickets, and caring for coats and accessories
  • Sell, distribute and account for parking passes and tickets through computerized ticketing programs or hard tickets
  • Handle cash and credit card payment transactions accurately and balance cash drawer
  • Provide general information regarding the event, facility and local area
  • Adhere to Legends Global procedures, safety guidelines, and department dress code
  • Communicate effectively in a polite and courteous manner
  • Observe facility conditions and share observations with management to maintain facility function and efficiency
  • Perform other duties as assigned
