Job Description
ASM Global is a leading venue management company responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of facilities including the El Paso Convention and Performing Arts Center, the El Paso Convention and Visitors Bureau, Union Plaza Transit Terminal, Glory Road Transfer Center, Plaza Theatre, McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre, and McKelligon Canyon Pavilion. Known for its commitment to providing exceptional audience experiences, ASM Global operates these venues with a focus on efficient management, customer service, safety, and the overall enhancement of event operations. The company is dedicated to maintaining high standards across all managed properties and strives to create memorable and seamless event experiences for patrons and staff alike.
This role as Event Staff under ASM Global involves essential operational support for various events and programs hosted at the multiple venues managed by the company. The Event Staff plays a critical role in maintaining the smooth functioning of these events, ensuring patron satisfaction, and upholding safety and security standards. As an Event Staff member, you will be performing a broad range of duties under immediate supervision, including assisting patrons, monitoring event activities, and responding to any unusual occurrences. The position demands a team-oriented individual with strong communication skills and a customer service mindset, who can effectively handle both routine and high-pressure situations.
The role includes responsibilities such as directing patrons to concessions, restrooms, and seating areas, assisting with ticketing and ushering, managing merchandise sales in coordination with tour and merchandise managers, and providing accommodations for patrons with special needs, such as wheelchair access and senior citizens. Event Staff must also be prepared to assist with pre-event setup and post-event breakdown tasks, contribute to crowd control efforts, and respond promptly to emergencies including fire, storms, and disturbances.
Safety is a major focus of this position as staff members are tasked with safeguarding patrons, staff, vendors, and participants throughout the event duration. This responsibility extends to monitoring entrances and exits to ensure only those with valid ticket credentials enter designated areas, and managing wristbands or stamps when required. The role also involves assisting in locating lost items or individuals, helping parents find lost children, and managing patrons temporarily leaving the venue.
Event Staff may be called upon to fill multiple roles during an event, including taking breaks for coworkers, providing customer assistance, or handling unexpected challenges while maintaining professionalism and composure. The role requires physical stamina since the job includes standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, and occasionally running. Flexibility in scheduling and adherence to ASM Global policies and procedures are essential for success.
Complimentary skills include strong interpersonal abilities, problem-solving capabilities, basic math skills for accurate money handling, and valid driver’s license with reliable transportation. Preference is given to candidates with at least one year of customer service experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Flexibility to work irregular hours and in both indoor and outdoor environments may be necessary.
The position offers an opportunity for growth within a globally recognized venue management company that values diversity and inclusion. ASM Global is proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer and actively encourages applications from women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and protected veterans. Reasonable accommodations are available for applicants who require assistance during the application process. Please note that completing the full application process is required to be considered for this position.
