Job Description

ASM Global is a premier venue management company responsible for overseeing a range of significant facilities in El Paso, including the El Paso Convention and Performing Arts Center, the El Paso Convention and Visitors Bureau, Union Plaza Transit Terminal, Glory Road Transfer Center, Plaza Theatre, McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre, and McKelligon Canyon Pavilion. As an Event Staff member within ASM Global, you will play a vital role in supporting the diverse activities hosted at these renowned venues. This position involves a broad range of responsibilities that are crucial to the success of scheduled events. You will be expected to perform both skilled and unskilled tasks under immediate supervision, contributing to guest services, audience management, and venue upkeep. The role requires adaptability, teamwork, and a strong customer service orientation to ensure that every visitor enjoys a positive and safe experience.

Your daily duties may include providing directions to patrons, acting as a ticket taker or usher, assisting with pre-show preparations such as setup and decorating, and offering special accommodations to guests with disabilities, seniors, and groups. Maintaining safety inside and outside the premises is a top priority, including managing crowd control and assisting during emergencies like fires or storms. Event Staff must be prepared to handle disturbances, enforce venue policies, and communicate effectively with security and management teams to resolve issues promptly.

Moreover, Event Staff are responsible for sales activities, such as selling merchandise during shows under the guidance of tour and merchandise managers. You will also help monitor access control by checking tickets, distributing wristbands, and ensuring that only authorized personnel enter specific areas. Flexibility is key, as you may be asked to fill various roles during events or provide breaks for co-workers by temporarily taking over different positions.

Physically, the role demands the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and to navigate indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes under irregular and demanding work hours. The position requires a professional demeanor, patience, and the capacity to handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • minimum one year customer service experience preferred
  • must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • ability to communicate effectively with others
  • ability to handle physical demands including stepping, walking, and sometimes running
  • capability to work irregular hours including indoor and outdoor conditions
  • ability to remain calm under pressure
  • willingness to perform various duties as assigned

Job Qualifications
