Job Description
ABM is one of the world's largest providers of facility services and solutions, dedicated to creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environments across a diverse range of industries. With over a century of experience since its founding in 1909, ABM supports more than 20,000 clients through a broad array of services including janitorial, engineering, parking, electrical and lighting, energy and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, HVAC and mechanical, landscape and turf care, and mission-critical solutions. Operating in over 350 offices across the United States, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, and other international locations, ABM employs more than 100,000 team members committed to excellence and innovation in facility management. ABM is a company that not only values quality service but also promotes inclusivity, sustainability, and support for its workforce, including veterans and individuals with disabilities. The company is an equal opportunity employer that participates in E-Verify to ensure lawful employment eligibility and maintains a military-friendly employment environment, providing ample training and career advancement opportunities for former service members.
The role of Event Cleaner at ABM involves the critical responsibility of ensuring cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas in event settings such as arenas, stadiums, parks, convention centers, or other entertainment venues. These assigned areas can include restrooms, suites, concourses, or common areas accessible to guests. This part-time position offers flexible shifts based on the event calendar, allowing employees to select work during or after events. The hourly pay for this role is $18.70, with the actual offer varying depending on the applicant's experience, skills, geographic location, and market standards. The Event Cleaner plays a vital role not only in maintaining the aesthetic and sanitary conditions of the venue but also in enhancing the overall guest experience by ensuring a clean and pleasant environment.
Primary duties of the Event Cleaner include cleaning and dusting furniture, fixtures, floors, ceilings, walls, machines, and equipment; emptying trash receptacles; cleaning bodily fluids safely and appropriately; and assisting guests by providing directions within the complex. The job requires flexibility, reliability, and a willingness to undertake a variety of tasks as assigned. Moreover, employees are expected to maintain effective communication with managers, supervisors, and colleagues to ensure smooth operations. The role also involves identifying and reporting the need for minor or major repairs or additions to the building's operating systems. Compliance with all safety, security, quality, and regulatory standards is mandatory to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests and staff alike.
This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals new to the workforce or those returning after a hiatus, as no prior experience or formal education is required, and on-the-job training is provided. Preference is given to candidates with customer service experience or those having a year of similar work experience, though these are not strict prerequisites. ABM's comprehensive benefits package further supports its employees with a variety of health, financial, and wellness benefits. As part-time staff, Event Cleaners have the chance to work flexible hours aligned with event schedules while contributing to the successful operation of major entertainment venues. ABM welcomes all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status, reaffirming its commitment to diversity and inclusion.
