Job Description
Encore is a leading technology services company specializing in event production and venue solutions, renowned for offering world-class audiovisual and event technology services at hotels, convention centers, and venues worldwide. With a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, innovation, and operational excellence, Encore provides tailored, cutting-edge solutions that help transform ordinary events into extraordinary experiences. The company is widely recognized for its comprehensive product offerings, including audiovisual technology, lighting, staging, and event management services, positioning itself as a trusted and innovative partner to hospitality and event professionals globally.
The Sales Manager, Venues, plays a pivotal role within Encore's sales team by guiding customers through their event experiences, ensuring that their objectives and goals are met with customized solutions. This role focuses on maximizing event and revenue capture by leveraging all available tools and resources to support and secure business from an assigned customer base. Collaborating closely with hotel personnel and internal departments, the Sales Manager, Venues, fosters strong relationships to improve business outcomes and consistently delivers world-class service to customers. Reporting to senior sales leadership such as a Sr. Sales Manager or Sales Director, this position is instrumental in driving sales results while aligning with Encore's core values and strategic initiatives.
In this role, the Sales Manager is responsible for proactively soliciting and securing business opportunities using a consultative sales approach based on Encore's sales process and methodology. The manager prepares and presents detailed quotes and proposals through various channels, including online venue booking systems and direct communications. Key to success is thorough collaboration with vendors and internal departments to capture service opportunities and enhance customer event experiences. Responsibilities also include attending site visits and pre-conference meetings to ensure seamless event execution that aligns with both customer expectations and profitability guidelines.
Beyond revenue generation, the role emphasizes relationship management, requiring the Sales Manager to build, maintain, and deepen client connections, understand customer history, and tailor solutions that foster loyalty and recurring business. A strong focus is placed on keeping accurate and up-to-date customer information in CRM systems, driving referrals and additional sales opportunities through the broader Encore network. Sales accountability is another critical area, with the Sales Manager maintaining a healthy sales pipeline, timely updating CRM data, supporting sales forecasting, and embracing company standard operating procedures and new initiatives.
This role demands technical aptitude, including knowledge of emerging event technologies, a solid understanding of hospitality sales processes, and proficiency in communication to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders. The Sales Manager operates in a dynamic hotel and convention center environment, requiring physical stamina to meet various demands such as standing, walking, and occasional lifting. Adaptability to varying work conditions, including irregular hours and on-call responsibilities, is essential. Encore values competence in core areas such as hospitality, ownership, ethical integrity, accountability, and collaboration, all of which are integral to the Sales Manager's performance and career growth within the company.
