The Sales Manager, Venues role at Encore is integral to the company’s mission of delivering compelling event experiences while maximizing revenue and business growth. This position involves proactively engaging with customers to understand their event goals and objectives, then presenting tailored solutions that meet those needs. The Sales Manager will leverage Encore’s extensive resources and internal tools to capture event opportunities from assigned customers effectively. A critical part of the role is to foster and maintain strong relationships with hotel personnel and various stakeholders to enhance service delivery and ensure seamless execution of events. Reporting to a Senior Sales Manager, Sales Director, or Director of Event Technology, the Sales Manager will also support company initiatives and uphold Encore’s core values.

This full-time position demands expertise in consultative selling within the event technology or hospitality sector. The role requires the Sales Manager to handle responsibilities such as preparing and presenting timely and competitive proposals, collaborating with vendors and internal departments to support event execution, attending site visits, and managing customer relationships through the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining a healthy sales pipeline with accurate forecasting to meet revenue targets. Additionally, staying current on new product offerings and industry trends will be essential.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1 year experience in relevant sales role
  • Preferred 1 year in technology sales or hospitality
  • Prior audiovisual sales experience is advantageous
  • Knowledge of hospitality sales processes
  • Technical aptitude
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Encore or equivalent sales roles
  • Preferred 1 year technology sales or hospitality experience
  • Prior sales experience in audiovisual is a plus
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry and sales processes preferred
  • Technical aptitude and computer proficiency required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Drive results by soliciting and securing business through a proactive, consultative sales approach utilizing Encore’s sales process and methodology
  • Prepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner to customers including those submitted through online venue booking systems
  • Collaborate effectively with vendors and internal departments to capture and service events
  • Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and venue meetings to support the customer event experience
  • Understand event cost structure and incorporate it into solution designs according to established profitability guidelines
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers, venue personnel, and Encore supporting functions to deliver world-class service
  • Maintain accurate and updated customer information in the Customer Relationship Management system at all times
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline to ensure achievement of revenue targets
  • Support sales forecasting efforts ensuring accuracy and timely submissions
  • Learn and adopt standard operating procedures and new initiatives or programs relevant to the role
  • Stay knowledgeable of new product and service offerings and emerging technologies supporting meetings and events
