Job Requirements
- Three years of experience in a sales or business development position
- associate’s degree preferable or experience related to outside sales and development
- must obtain a valid Oklahoma motor vehicle operator’s license within thirty days of hire
- pass driver’s history check
- successful completion of a pre-employment background check

- demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships
- strong communication skills
- proficiency with CRM software
- ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external teams
- knowledge of event sales processes and marketing techniques
Job Duties
- Build and maintain a prospective client pipeline aligned with the Zoo’s strategic goals
- assist director with development of documented sales strategy
- prospect and promote OKC Zoo offerings (group admission and private events) to increase revenue and attendance
- build connections in the community (e.g., CVB, local chambers) to create new business opportunities
- attend networking events to build relationships with current and potential clients
- generate new business through cold calling, off-site appointments, networking, and strategic marketing
- develop new relationships and strengthen relationships with previous clients to encourage repeat business and growth
- meet pre-determined sales goals and accurately document sales calls, appointments, and transactions using CRM software
- collaborate with marketing team on collateral needs and targeted campaigns
- collaborate with event execution team on handoff, industry trends, opportunities to enhance offerings, client requests, etc.
- work closely with the Zoo’s food and beverage partner and non-profit partner to present cohesive Zoo offerings that best suit client needs
- prepare proposals and invoices, and facilitate venue tours
- review weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales objectives and results, and prepare action plans where improvement is needed
- stay current on industry trends by reading relevant publications and attending seminars and workshops
