Job Description
The hiring organization is a distinguished entity specializing in live events management, renowned for orchestrating seamless and memorable experiences during concerts, festivals, theatre performances, and other live entertainment productions. They operate predominantly within vibrant backstage and venue environments that demand meticulous coordination and dynamic teamwork. This company takes pride in creating a professional and welcoming atmosphere not just for audiences but also for artists, production teams, and guest personnel. Emphasizing operational excellence and attentive service, the organization relies on skilled personnel to uphold their high standards during fast-paced events, contributing significantly to the overall success of each production.
This particular role is a Part-Time, On-Call Event Runner position that plays a crucial support role in backstage operations during scheduled events. Event Runners are integral to keeping live shows and performances running smoothly by providing timely logistical assistance and transportation within the venue. Candidates for this role must have reliable personal transportation, as well as be insurable under the organization's vehicle policies. The nature of work spans across a variety of tasks including transporting staff and talent, delivering supplies and equipment, and maintaining order backstage. Event Runners operate under the direct supervision of the Production or Stage Manager and collaborate closely with event operations and staff.
The position requires interacting with multiple stakeholders including artists, musicians, tour management, VIP guests, and production teams with the utmost professionalism, discretion, and courtesy. Event Runners ensure the backstage environment remains organized, efficient, and welcoming, often under high-pressure situations. Flexibility and adaptability are paramount, as the schedule includes irregular hours with shifts possibly extending into nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry moderately heavy items are necessary, alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills.
This role is ideal for individuals passionate about the arts and live entertainment industry who thrive in dynamic and fast-paced settings. With responsibilities that range from shuttle services between parking lots, hotels, and venues to supporting quick-turn logistics backstage, Event Runners contribute directly to the smooth execution of performances and the positive experience of talent and crews alike. While part-time and on-call, the position offers a variety of benefits including options for medical and dental coverage depending on hours worked, paid time off, employee assistance programs, and participation in Washington State retirement plans subject to eligibility.
In summary, the Event Runner role is perfectly suited for candidates who possess a reliable vehicle, demonstrate exceptional customer service, and boast prior experience in live event environments or hospitality. The role demands punctuality, strong organizational skills, and the capacity to work cohesively with diverse teams under pressure. Prospective hires should have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and a strong working knowledge of Spokane-area locations to effectively fulfill the position’s demands. This opportunity provides a unique avenue to be part of thrilling live events and contribute behind the scenes to their seamless success, all while enjoying the flexible scheduling and benefits offered to part-time teammates.
