As an innovative leader in the event production industry, Off the Grid operates across 15 Bay Area locations, hosting 60 public events weekly and serving over 100,000 people. The Event Production Crew Member role is a part-time and seasonal position offering an hourly wage between $24.50 and $30.00. Reporting to the Event Operations Manager, this role is crucial in the execution and oversight of event operations within Off the Grid’s various market spaces. As a frontline ambassador of the brand, the Event Production Crew Member engages directly with the diverse Bay Area community, facilitating unique food experiences by supporting anywhere from 2 to 30 local food entrepreneurs during markets. This role involves setting up and preparing event spaces, managing logistical needs, and upholding the brand's hospitality standards. The position requires the individual to be physically active and hands-on, handling event gear confidently and thriving in fast-paced environments.

This role demands flexibility as it includes regular night and weekend shifts, with a requirement to travel around the Bay Area to various event locations. The successful candidate must be committed to delivering world-class hospitality, creating memorable and positive experiences that enhance Off the Grid's reputation. The role involves a comprehensive combination of logistical coordination, hospitality liaison duties, and operational oversight, with an emphasis on community relationships and team leadership. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of professional event production or related operations experience
  • 1+ years of management customer service or sales experience
  • valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to work nights weekends and travel 40-50% within the Bay Area
  • physically able to handle equipment lifting up to 50 pounds
  • willingness to work in fast-paced environments
  • ability to lead and motivate a team
  • proficiency with Google Suite and mobile devices
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience

Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of professional event production and or related operations experience
  • 1+ years management customer service or sales experience
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • excellent demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record is required
  • 1-2 years of successful supervisory experience
  • proficiency in Google Suite
  • familiarity with Android and Apple phones tablets and related hardware

Job Duties

  • take ownership of the public event including hospitality production execution client management and all other logistical needs
  • champion Off the Grid hospitality and values fully embodying our event production standards to create unique and creative experiences for our customers
  • develop and maintain strong professional working relationships with OTG customers guests creators and stakeholders
  • oversee and contribute to the development of hospitality and customer service programs including team training and guest experience research
  • tackle and solve challenging guest issues that require resourcefulness creative thinking and collaboration
  • create a presence within the event so customers receive a great experience
  • uphold systems of transparency to ensure health safety and sanitation standards are met above and beyond local municipal code standards
  • complete daily event reports in detail and communicate emergency action items and incidents to the event operations manager immediately
  • fill out incident reports promptly with detailed notes and pictures
  • secure keys gas cards phones tools and administrative technology properly
  • help customers fill out event surveys and use OTG apps leading by example
  • inspect equipment and record repair needs using department systems and software applications
  • encourage participation and ownership by all team members focusing on execution hospitality and engagement
  • remove obstacles and potential dangers and keep areas clean and debris free before during and after events
  • lead by example to improve event performance using communication skills
  • actively participate and manage setup and breakdown of production elements with market team members
  • oversee market vehicle operations including safety checks maintenance logs management applications and inspection reports
  • ensure all driving rules and safety procedures are followed including emergency situations
  • complete all required training and safety courses on time
  • manage vehicle appearance by keeping it clean organized and stocked
  • provide support to creators including event placement document checks vehicle inspections and emergency assistance
  • manage creator event performance improving customer engagement and providing positive feedback
  • ensure creators follow contractual obligations and Off the Grid code of conduct
  • check that creators follow sanitation safety regulations and municipal documentation
  • foster and maintain a positive work environment emphasizing motivation teamwork and customer service
  • develop and oversee team accountability based on event operations handbook policies and company code of conduct
  • encourage participation and ownership by all team members focusing on event execution and hospitality
