Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years experience in event management or related area
- OR 2-year degree from accredited university in related major
- At least 1-year experience in event management
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with event management software
- Ability to work full time
- Willingness to work on site at The Westin Pittsburgh
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service
- Leadership skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years event management experience
- OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field with at least 1 year experience
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
- Customer service oriented
- Experience managing event logistics and teams
- Knowledge of current event management trends
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve operational challenges
Job Duties
- Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales and property departments
- Ensure seamless event logistics and operations
- Greet customers during events and transition to operations team
- Manage group room blocks and meeting spaces for assigned groups
- Identify and resolve operational challenges
- Act as liaison between salesperson and customer throughout event phases
- Lead formal pre-event and post-event meetings
- Assist in sales process and revenue forecasting
- Up-sell products and services
- Review employee performance and provide feedback
- Participate in customer site inspections
- Respond to guest problems and complaints
