Job Description

Encore is a leading global event technology company that specializes in event production services including audiovisual technology, event management, and technical support. With a strong presence in hotels, convention centers, and various event venues worldwide, Encore is dedicated to providing top-quality experiences for clients across diverse industries. The company prides itself on its commitment to operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and innovative solutions that enhance any event or meeting environment. The company employs thousands of professionals and maintains a culture centered around world-class service, teamwork, and continuous professional development. This opportunity is for an Operations Supervisor position located within Encore, reporting to senior management personnel such as the Director of Event Technology (DET), Director of Operations (DOO), or Operations Manager.

The Operations Supervisor role is pivotal in leading floor operations with a strong focus on customer service, staff leadership, and technical team management. This position is responsible for organizing daily floor activities, ensuring equipment setup, workflow coordination, and operational efficiencies. The Operations Supervisor will be instrumental in maintaining customer satisfaction by delivering excellent service, addressing client needs on-site, and fostering positive client relationships through effective communication. This role also involves training and developing technical staff, serving as a mentor, and reinforcing Encore's service and operational standards. Additionally, the Operations Supervisor handles intermediate audiovisual equipment setup, technological troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and security.

The role requires a depth of technical expertise alongside leadership capabilities as the supervisor directly leads and coordinates the workflow of technicians during events. The candidate must be proactive in finding operational improvements and participate actively in event planning and venue meetings to support efficient event execution. The role includes responsibility for maintaining accurate documentation such as flowsheets and ensuring preventative maintenance procedures are followed to keep equipment in optimal condition.

Physical demands are notable as the role involves prolonged standing, walking, lifting of equipment up to 50 lbs frequently, and occasional lifting of heavier items. Work environments are varied, including hotel and convention center spaces as well as warehouse settings, often with exposure to outdoor conditions and the need to handle high-end audiovisual and electrical equipment. The position entails irregular hours including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and an on-call status.

Candidates are expected to have a blend of customer service, hospitality, and technical audiovisual experience, with a preference for those with a bachelor's degree and at least 3-5 years of related experience. Internal candidates must complete Encore’s comprehensive training program, and external candidates are required to meet certification standards within their first 60 days. Strong problem-solving skills, knowledge of technical theory, and leadership experience are critical for success in this role. In addition, candidates must have a valid driver's license and may need to meet Department of Transportation requirements if operating company vehicles.

Overall, the Operations Supervisor at Encore represents a key leadership role that combines operational management, customer service excellence, technical expertise, and team development within a dynamic event production environment. This position offers a unique opportunity for professionals passionate about event technology and leadership to grow their careers within a globally respected company.
