Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum 2 years experience in event management, food and beverage, or a related professional area
  • experience supervising or leading banquet/event staff, scheduling, inventory management, and enforcing sanitation and service standards
  • strong customer service skills
  • ability to handle guest complaints, solicit feedback, and drive continuous improvement in guest satisfaction
  • knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to events and ability to execute emergency and safety procedures
  • candidate must be based in Miami and available to support programs or events as needed

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Project and manage departmental supply needs including tables, chairs, banquet tables, meeting sets, props and maintain inventories and equipment
  • apply knowledge of laws and regulations as they relate to events and enforce all standards, policies, procedures, and established sanitation levels
  • schedule Event Services staff to meet forecast and service standards while maximizing profitability
  • lead banquet shifts, actively participate in servicing events, set goals, delegate tasks, and conduct monthly department meetings
  • act as a liaison to kitchen staff and assist the team in building lasting group relationships to retain business and drive growth
  • interact with guests to obtain feedback, respond to and handle guest problems and complaints, and set a positive example for guest relations
  • empower and verify employees understand expectations and parameters
  • observe service behaviors and provide feedback to individuals
  • communicate and execute departmental and property emergency procedures and verify staff are trained in safety procedures
  • participate in development and implementation of corrective action plans and review meeting planner survey results to address service challenges
