The Event Operations Field Coordinator is a temporary, full-time position based in Providence, RI, offering an hourly pay rate of $23.00 for a duration of four months. This role functions within the Event Support Team, focusing on the seamless coordination and execution of university events on campus. The position is uniquely balanced between processing event requests through the work order management system and providing on-site event support. The coordinator will spend approximately half of their time managing administrative tasks remotely and the other half present in the field to oversee event setups and logistics.

The primary responsibility of the Event Operations Field Coordinator is to ensure that all aspects of event preparation and execution meet the university's standards and comply with state and university fire-safety regulations. This includes receiving and accurately processing event requests, coordinating with internal departments and external vendors, scheduling deliveries and pickups to avoid conflicts, and generating work orders for facilities management tradespeople as necessary. The role requires vigilance in overseeing event setups for accuracy and efficiency, problem-solving on-site for any required adjustments, and serving as a resource for both clients and vendors throughout the event timeline.

Strong organizational skills, resourcefulness, and effective time management are essential for success in this role. The coordinator must have a firm understanding of event execution logistics, possess knowledge of conference facilities and related technology, and be proficient in computer applications such as Google Suite. Excellent communication and customer service skills are critical to facilitate smooth interactions among diverse university departments and external partners.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree accompanied by 1-2 years of relevant experience, an associate degree with 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The job requires the physical ability to walk around campus and lift up to 50 pounds. While the role is primarily onsite at the university, there is flexibility to work from home one day per week. Convenient on-street parking is available for those commuting to the campus. nextSource and the university emphasize equal opportunity employment and provide reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities, fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment.
