Job Description
Big Bend Hospice Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Tallahassee, FL, dedicated to providing compassionate end-of-life care and supporting the community through meaningful events and programs. The Foundation focuses on honoring and supporting patients and their families during life’s most significant moments, making a lasting impact on the lives it touches. As a mission-driven organization, Big Bend Hospice Foundation thrives on collaboration, a purpose-filled culture, and the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the community. The Foundation also offers opportunities for career growth in event planning and nonprofit sectors, nurturing meaningful connections between colleagues, donors, volunteers, and community members.
The Event Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role within Big Bend Hospice Foundation as the operational heartbeat behind all events. This position requires a highly organized and motivated individual who excels in managing complex logistics, timelines, and vendor partnerships. The Coordinator works closely with the Director of Special Events and Communications to ensure flawless execution of fundraising events, community programs, and donor experiences. More than just planning events, this role focuses on creating impactful experiences that support the Foundation’s mission of compassion and remembrance. This includes responsibilities like budget tracking, event performance analysis, sponsorship fulfillment, and engagement with donors and volunteers.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment where they can anticipate needs before they arise, demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, and build strong relationships with stakeholders. A proactive and detail-driven mindset is essential to succeed in this role. Experience with Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn CRM and event management tools will be necessary to handle the technological aspects effectively. The position requires the flexibility to support on-site event execution, including lifting up to 25 pounds, and attendance at occasional evening and weekend events.
This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a nonprofit that truly changes lives. The Event Operations Coordinator not only manages event logistics but also helps shape community outreach and memorial programs, making each gathering meaningful and memorable. If you are passionate about mission-driven work and eager to grow your career in event coordination within the nonprofit or healthcare environment, this position at Big Bend Hospice Foundation offers an ideal platform to make a lasting impact.
