Job Description
Located in Dayton, Ohio, Hangar 01 at the Greene Towne Centre serves as the central hub for the Air Force Rapid Sustainment Office (RSO). This facility supports a collaborative and innovative environment dedicated to advancing new technologies, processes, and sustainment capabilities for the U.S. Air Force. By fostering teamwork and valuing each individual's unique strengths, Hangar 01 drives success in support of its mission to enhance rapid sustainment operations. \n\nThe Event Operations Coordinator plays an essential role within this dynamic setting, supporting both the RSO and the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) teams. This full-time, exempt position (Pay Grade P2) involves comprehensive coordination and execution of diverse events such as facility tours, distinguished visitor engagements, employee engagement events, pitch days, demonstrations, and other mission-critical activities. While most events take place at Hangar 01 itself, tours and visits often extend to other advanced facilities including the Advanced Technology and Training Center (ATTC) and the Integrated Technology Operations Center (ITOC), along with other designated sites as required. \n\nThe responsibilities of this role encompass the detailed planning, organizing, and implementation of events varying in scale and complexity. The Event Operations Coordinator develops event layouts, coordinates programming and demonstrations, manages vendor relationships, communicates effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, tracks project timelines and deliverables, and handles all related event communications. This position demands meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks seamlessly to ensure the flawless execution of events. Beyond preparation, the role requires active support during event setup and teardown, on-site coordination during events, and administration of the Hangar 01 facility calendar to optimize scheduling and resource allocation. \n\nCandidates for this position must bring a blend of organizational acumen, communication skills, and logistical expertise. They should thrive in a fast-paced, shifting priority environment and be capable of working independently while exercising sound judgment. Professional appearance and demeanor suitable for military, government, and academic visitors are essential. This role also requires U.S. citizenship due to federal government research contract stipulations. The ideal candidate will not only possess solid experience in event planning and coordination but also display flexibility and resourcefulness to adapt to evolving event demands. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with cross-functional team collaboration, virtual event platforms, and large-scale event management including local, regional, national, and international conferences. \n\nIn joining this team, the Event Operations Coordinator contributes significantly to the mission of advancing Air Force sustainment operations and supporting innovative research efforts. The role offers an opportunity to work in a mission-driven environment with a dedicated team, promoting technological advancements through well-organized, impactful events that engage diverse stakeholders across military, government, and academic sectors. This is a key position within Hangar 01 and the broader Dayton community, vital to sustaining the cutting-edge capabilities championed by the Air Force Rapid Sustainment Office and its partners.
