Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years hospitality experience in catering, convention or event servicing within a boutique or luxury hotel
  • Knowledge of Delphi FDC system preferred but not required
  • Flexible availability to be present during evening or weekend events
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field of Hospitality Management or equivalent work experience
  • Adaptable interpersonal communication skills across all employee levels
  • Professional proficiency in English reading, writing and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated experience developing business and achieving sales targets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word

Job Duties

  • Uphold and role model the company's principles of People, Place and Character
  • Ensure direct reports model company values that drive collaboration, intuition and translocal hospitality
  • Act as the key liaison between hotel and client/planner, reviewing and detailing client needs to ensure successful execution and flow of contracted programs including banquet event orders, food and beverage, meeting needs, rooming lists, ground transportation, special room service needs, group resumes, master account billing, audio visual and box handling
  • Lead Resume and BEO meetings to coordinate with various departments and update internal resumes
  • Meet and greet clients, oversee formal pre-cons or informal needs reviews with appropriate hotel stakeholders
  • Communicate with team and inspect all event details to meet client expectations
  • Close out files by verifying billing against menus and contract terms, working with accounting on post-meeting adjustments
  • Problem solve with departments to manage space changes for groups as needed
  • Build and maintain trusting and transparent relationships with clients and planners
  • Review function space blocking to maximize client flow and revenue
  • Work to upsell events achieving higher B & C revenues, AV, and additional client needs
  • Assist in annual competitive analysis of banquet costs, new menus, food and beverage minimums, and meeting rental costs
  • Conduct client site inspections post-contract phase, coordinate event tastings
  • Monitor overall setup and implementation of events
  • Proactively communicate with departments to ensure proper account servicing
  • Empower employees to intuitively serve guests, employees, visitors, and clients
  • Use best judgment to create thoughtful and genuine guest experiences
  • Provide undivided attention to each guest
  • Demonstrate high drive and determination
  • Work cooperatively with others for hotel success
  • Curate and detail all on-property hotel events
  • Meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
  • Perform other duties as requested by Director of Sales or General Manager
