Job Description

Folktale is a distinguished events company renowned for delivering exceptional and memorable experiences. With a reputation built on impeccable hospitality standards, Folktale specializes in orchestrating unique events that resonate deeply with its clients. The company blends creativity with operational excellence, ensuring every event reflects their brand story and core hospitality values. Known for their personalized approach and attention to detail, Folktale stands out as a leader in the event management space, catering to a diverse clientele with an array of event needs ranging from intimate gatherings to large-scale corporate functions. Their dedicated team of professionals prides itself on transforming visions into tangible, breathtaking realities through collaboration and expert execution.

As an Event Manager at Folktale, you will be the heartbeat behind unforgettable events, acting as the operational backbone of the Events Department. Your primary role will involve working closely with the Director of Events to turn big visions into even bigger realities. This position is crucial for managing client relations, vendor coordination, timelines, and logistics, ensuring flawless event execution from start to finish. It goes beyond simple task management - it’s about creating "wow" moments with precision, flair, and an intuitive sense of hospitality. You will be the trusted point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams, making sure all aspects of the event are perfectly aligned and executed.

In your role, you will take the lead in client planning and coordination, becoming the primary contact once contracts are signed. Collaboration with the Culinary and Wine teams to plan tastings and manage event details is essential. Maintaining rigorous timelines, checklists, and planning scoreboards will be part of your daily responsibilities. Vendor management and logistical arrangements will require a blend of grace and strategic thinking. You will also be responsible for preparing accurate banquet event orders (BEOs) and ensuring operational excellence by collaborating cross-departmentally with Culinary, Hospitality, Facilities, and Operations teams. Confirming event layouts, rentals, staffing, and overall flow will be key to delivering seamless experiences.

On the day of events, your leadership will be pivotal. You'll oversee setup and event flow, act as the calm, confident contact person, and resolve any challenges creatively and efficiently. Your efforts will guarantee that every event upholds Folktale’s high standards. Additionally, administrative and systems support tasks such as organizing event files, supporting billing accuracy, final invoicing, and tracking execution documentation will ensure smooth operational continuity. This role demands someone with at least five years of experience in event production or banquet management, proven leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, strong organizational talents, and proficiency in event management software such as TripleSeat or AllSeated/Prism. Availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays is also required.

Working at Folktale means joining a vibrant culture where events are more than just logistics - they represent brand storytelling, embody hospitality values, and create opportunities to make people smile. Collaboration across departments is encouraged, and employees are empowered to contribute to meaningful and memorable moments that guests will cherish forever. If you have the passion for event management and a desire to be part of a company that values precision, creativity, and heartfelt hospitality, this is the ideal role for you.
