The Event Manager role at Oak View Group is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned events, from the initial planning stages through to their successful completion. The role entails managing event staff, coordinating with security personnel, interacting with local public safety entities, and ensuring that all events are executed smoothly and securely with an outstanding customer experience. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Minimum 3 years of event management experience in large public assembly facilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of crowd control and safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of event management experience in stadium, arena, convention center, or public assembly facility
  • Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in facility management, hospitality management, business, or related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and internet use
  • Knowledge of operational event characteristics
  • Ability to identify user needs
  • Knowledge of crowd management and control techniques
  • Knowledge of customer service practices
  • Knowledge of supervision, scheduling, and training principles
  • Familiarity with facility use contracts
  • Knowledge of fire and public safety regulations
  • Experience with audiovisual equipment and electronic systems in public assembly venues
  • Experience with budget preparation and control

  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Advance plan, service, and supervise all events
  • Plan, manage, and evaluate the work of subordinates
  • Provide leadership and guidance for event personnel
  • Analyze challenges, identify alternative solutions, and implement recommendations
  • Communicate clearly and concisely
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with lessees, clients, co-workers, part-time staff, contractors, patrons, public and municipal officials
  • Assist in preparation of building for upcoming events
  • Assist with pre-show financial estimates and post-show settlements
  • Recruit, train, and supervise event and security staff
  • Create work schedules and delegate assignments
  • Function as liaison between users and facility staff
  • Recommend and evaluate event staffing levels
  • Coordinate communication during load-in and load-out
  • Investigate and resolve event-related complaints
  • Maintain equipment for event and security staff
  • Make hospitality arrangements as needed
  • Communicate with municipal officials to ensure security
  • Review emergency planning procedures
  • Prepare and approve bi-weekly payroll for staff
  • Serve as Manager on Duty as scheduled
  • Other duties as assigned
