Job Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of event management experience in a stadium, arena, convention center or public assembly facility
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Internet
  • Knowledge of event operational characteristics
  • Ability to identify needs of facility users
  • Knowledge of crowd management techniques
  • Familiarity with customer service practices
  • Knowledge of supervision, scheduling, and training employees
  • Familiarity with facility use contracts
  • Knowledge of fire and public safety regulations
  • Understanding of A/V equipment in public assembly facilities
  • Experience with budget preparation and control
  • Willingness to participate in training and supervision of staff

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of event management experience in a stadium, arena, convention center or public assembly facility
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in facility management, hospitality management, business, or related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet applications
  • Knowledge of event operational characteristics
  • Ability to assess needs of facility users
  • Knowledge of crowd management and control techniques
  • Familiarity with customer service practices
  • Understanding of supervision, scheduling, and employee training principles
  • Experience with facility use contracts
  • Knowledge of fire and public safety regulations
  • Understanding of A/V equipment and electronic systems in public assembly facilities
  • Experience with budget preparation and control
  • Familiarity with terminology used in entertainment, convention, or public assembly settings
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Direct all facility staff in delivering facility services for events and resolving event related problems
  • Direct and participate in pre-event planning and review event history
  • Compile and review event and contractor charges for invoicing and collection
  • Conduct post-event meetings to evaluate services provided
  • Conduct facility tours for potential clients and explain available services
  • Assist in preparing pricing estimates for prospective meetings
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare pre-event planning documents and instructions
  • Communicate directives clearly and timely to other departments
  • Implement facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain proper image and generate positive public relations
  • Collaborate with internal service partners for quality customer service
  • Serve as liaison for all facility clients
  • Establish new customer service standards
  • Participate in training and supervision of other event managers
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
