Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in event or convention services, hospitality, or related industry
- Experience with convention centers, hotels with meeting or ballroom space, or multi-use venues
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Ability to multitask and perform under deadlines
- Customer service expertise with conflict resolution skills
- Financial proficiency in forecasting, billing, and budget tracking
- Familiarity with event services, banquet standards, venue management, and culinary terminology
- Collaborative team player with ability to coordinate across departments and partners
- Knowledge of union labor environments
- Sales minded with customer service focus
- Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desirable
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledgeable in Momentus (Ungerboeck), AutoCAD, and database management
- Experienced with Corrigo or similar maintenance management systems
- Familiar with Coupa or compatible procurement platforms
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) preferred
- Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) a plus
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar preferred
- OSHA 10 Certification a plus
- Other relevant certifications in sustainability, revenue management, or digital event strategy valued
Job Duties
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned MBCC and MBCC Campus events
- Coordinate and conduct pre-planning site visits with clients and key stakeholders
- Facilitate pre-conference meetings and post-event debriefs to communicate event objectives and logistics
- Lead clients in complying with Event License Agreements, venue policies, and event best practices
- Provide exceptional client service by understanding needs and proactively resolving challenges
- Support sales teams with site inspections and ensure seamless transition to event management
- Identify upsell opportunities to enhance event experiences and generate revenue
- Collaborate with exclusive food and beverage provider to align service delivery
- Maintain a visible presence throughout events to ensure service and timely issue resolution
- Oversee full client experience lifecycle from sales turnover to post-event wrap-up
- Prepare and distribute event documentation ahead of event dates
- Oversee coordination of venue services and contract partners
- Maintain onsite presence to ensure smooth event execution and safety compliance
- Conduct walkthroughs to ensure event readiness and venue standards
- Resolve operational challenges by collaborating with internal teams
- Utilize Momentus and Corrigo platforms for planning and maintenance
- Coordinate AV and rigging services with technical teams and union labor
- Prepare and distribute daily event reports
- Manage event financials including estimates, work orders, and billing
- Support revenue forecasting and ensure financial policy compliance
- Deliver white-glove service to clients, exhibitors, and attendees
- Manage client and attendee issues promptly
- Collaborate on emergency preparedness and risk mitigation
- Promote sustainability initiatives and green event practices
- Lead meetings for planning and continuous improvement
- Mentor Event Coordinator and share knowledge
- Participate in exclusive food and beverage meetings
- Perform other event-related duties as assigned
