Job Requirements

  • Availability to work weekend nights
  • Own reliable transportation and valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to hear, speak, read and write English fluently
  • Basic 12th-grade mathematics, spelling and reading skills
  • Effective verbal communication and business writing skills
  • Mobility and dexterity to meet clients on and off premises, attend functions, climb stairs, use door keys and operate office equipment
  • Vision to read fine print, computer screens, and observe rooms in poorly lit conditions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year hotel sales or catering experience
  • Knowledge of general sales techniques
  • Experience with yield management
  • Highly developed customer service and follow-up skills
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop strong internal and customer relationships
  • Problem-solving skills and sound business decision-making
  • Detail-oriented with ability to respond to coaching and feedback

Job Duties

  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of events including meetings, reunions, social functions, and catering
  • Manage group business from contract signing, including billing, event details, and VIP needs
  • Target and secure new catering sales and develop new catering accounts
  • Communicate effectively with various departments to ensure event execution exceeds client expectations
  • Maintain accurate and organized client records, develop customer profiles, and follow up on leads and inquiries promptly
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional and courteous interaction
  • Achieve revenue goals by focusing on direct sales, account management, and customer retention
