Job Description
A well-established private investment firm located in Midtown Manhattan is in search of a highly skilled and experienced Event Manager to lead its prestigious client events platform. This renowned firm specializes in private investment management and prides itself on cultivating strong relationships with senior institutional clients and stakeholders. By delivering exceptional event experiences, the company aims to strengthen brand positioning and foster deeper connections within the financial services community. The firm offers a dynamic and professional work environment situated in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, requiring office presence five days a week. The compensation package for this role is highly competitive, with total earnings ranging from $300,000 to $350,000 per year, inclusive of base salary and discretionary bonus, reflecting the importance of the position and the high level of expertise required.
The Event Manager will take full ownership of the strategy, planning, and execution of a comprehensive portfolio of events designed to support relationship development and elevate brand presence. This role is highly visible and externally facing, requiring close collaboration with senior leadership and investment professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering polished, thoughtfully designed experiences that resonate with a senior institutional audience, demonstrating operational rigor and sound judgment. This is a key leadership position that demands meticulous attention to detail, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to operate with discretion and professionalism.
Core responsibilities include end-to-end management of a flagship annual conference attracting over 200 senior attendees, as well as planning and executing a series of curated gatherings such as regional dinners, thematic events, and select receptions throughout the year. Additionally, the Event Manager will assess and coordinate participation in relevant third-party conferences, including managing sponsorships and speaking engagements, ensuring alignment with the firm’s broader business development priorities. Operational excellence is paramount, with the role requiring management of timelines, vendor relationships, contracts, on-site event direction, executive coordination, and budget oversight.
The Event Manager will ensure a consistently high-quality experience from invitation through post-event follow-up, serving as a primary contact for senior attendees and external partners. This involves preparing internal stakeholders for speaking and hosting duties and maintaining strong relationships with venues and event organizers. Continuous improvement is emphasized through tracking attendance, engagement, and qualitative feedback, coupled with documentation updates and refinement of execution processes.
Ideal candidates will bring over five years of event management experience, preferably within financial services, professional services, private markets, or luxury hospitality sectors. Experience managing events tailored for senior executives and institutional audiences is essential. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, high attention to detail, and the flexibility to work outside conventional business hours as needed. Professional maturity, discretion, ownership mindset, calmness under pressure, and refined judgment are crucial attributes for success in this role. This opportunity offers a unique platform to play a pivotal role in enhancing client engagement and advancing the reputation of a distinguished private investment firm through world-class event management.
