The role of Event Manager III at Maritz is a pivotal position responsible for acting as the primary client point of contact for meetings and events held onsite at the client's campus. This role involves managing meetings and events by implementing strategic plans, delivering objectives, and overseeing logistical execution. The Event Manager III must work closely with clients to understand their goals and ensure that all event components align with these objectives. This position requires a high level of coordination, from program planning to providing exceptional customer service throughout the events. The role entails supporting the client Product Area in planning, strategy development, budgeting, content creation, and production needs for their annual event calendar. The Event Manager III also serves as the Product Area Brand Ambassador at events and participates in related meetings. They are tasked with executing large-scale, complex, executive-level events with attendance exceeding 2,500 participants. Additionally, the role includes leading the New Hire Series, managing structure, design, content, communication, and vendor relationships for catering, production, and onsite event execution.
The Event Manager III collaborates with various service partners such as catering, facilities, technology and AV, executive production, security, transportation, and janitorial teams to ensure high-quality event services. They are responsible for outlining event deliverables, creating project timelines, maintaining event workbooks, and communication plans to guarantee precise and timely event execution. Site inspections, proactive client communication, tracking updates in the event management system, and partnering with onsite event specialists for logistics review are also critical responsibilities. The Event Manager III leads pre-con meetings and manages the scheduling and readiness of meeting spaces, while overseeing event team storage, inventory, swag, and supply management. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 4–6 years of experience in meeting/event planning
- Strong knowledge of event/program management
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
- Ability to manage multiple events in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with G-Suite and learning new technology
- Ability to work onsite or in a hybrid setting based on client needs
- Authorization to work permanently in the U.S.
- Availability for minimal travel for onsite support
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4–6 years of experience in meeting/event planning (corporate, association, incentives, convention services, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of event/program management, including budgeting and project planning
- Demonstrated success developing and maintaining strong client relationships
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment and manage multiple events simultaneously
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including G-Suite tools and the ability to learn new technology quickly
Job Duties
- Support the client Product Area with planning, strategy, and delivery of their annual event calendar, including event design, budgeting, content development, and production needs
- Serve as the Product Area Brand Ambassador for events

- Execute large-scale, high-complexity, executive-level events (2,500+ attendees)
- Lead the New Hire Series, overseeing structure, design, content, communication strategy, and management of third-party vendors, catering, production, and onsite execution
- Serve as the primary point-of-contact for event hosts, providing consultative planning support throughout the event lifecycle
- Work closely with service partners (catering, facilities, technology & AV, executive production, security, transportation, janitorial) to deliver high-quality event services
- Outline deliverables, complete project timelines, event workbooks, and communication plans while ensuring accurate and timely execution of all event details
- Coordinate and attend site inspections
- maintain proactive, positive communication with clients, hosting regular planning and status meetings
- Track communication, updates, and changes within the event management system
- Partner with Onsite Event Specialists by providing clear direction and reviewing event logistics to ensure objectives are met or exceeded
- Schedule and lead pre-con meetings for all events
- manage meeting room calendars and audit Executive Business Center spaces to ensure readiness
- Oversee event team storage, inventory, swag, and event supply management
