Event Manager / Driver

Kona Ice of Jackson/Josephine Co is part of the larger Kona Ice franchise, a well-established and rapidly growing mobile shaved ice vendor known for its fun and dynamic work environment. Kona Ice specializes in providing delicious shaved ice treats at a variety of events throughout the community. This company operates with a strong community focus, participating in numerous activities ranging from school events and sports tournaments to large festivals, concerts, corporate events, weddings, and birthday parties, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for both employees and customers.

Kona Ice is looking for motivated and charismatic drivers to join their local team, referred to as the "Krew." These drivers will serve as the face of Kona Ice and play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while driving the Kona Ice truck to various pre-scheduled events around the Rogue Valley area. The job is part-time, with the Spring and Summer months offering hours that approach full-time availability. Drivers will operate primarily out of a warehouse located in Gold Hill, Oregon, where they will pick up the truck before heading out to events.

The Driver role at Kona Ice is fast-paced, fun, and full of variety, with no two days ever being the same. It is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy being out in the community, meeting new people, and working independently. This job requires a high level of reliability, as the presence of the driver directly impacts the company's ability to serve customers at scheduled events. Drivers must be self-starters, capable of managing shifts alone in the truck, and able to maintain a safe and pleasant work environment.

Key responsibilities include driving safely to scheduled events, greeting customers courteously, serving shaved ice quickly and accurately, and adhering to hygiene, health, and sanitation guidelines. Drivers also assist with basic cleaning of trucks and the warehouse, as well as the preparation and stocking of supplies at the beginning and end of shifts. Additionally, they must be able to read, count, and complete documentation with accuracy and report any maintenance or inventory needs to appropriate staff.

The role demands weekend availability, particularly during major holidays which are non-negotiable. Though weekend shifts require commitment, with advance notice, some weekend scheduling flexibility can be arranged. Ideal candidates will have a great driving record, be at least 18 years old, and possess the ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced environments. Most importantly, candidates should have a positive attitude, enjoy having fun, and know how to smile, as delivering an enjoyable customer experience is central to Kona Ice's brand and success.
