Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, event planning, sports management or related field
- Minimum two years experience in managing conventions or trade shows with large attendance
- Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities effectively
- Experience collaborating with unionized labor teams
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including long shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and event management software
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, event planning, sports management or related field
- Two years of experience in convention or trade show operations and execution with attendance over 5,000
- Experience working with union labor such as audiovisual, stage hands, and production staff
- Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Professional presentation and work ethic
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Ungerboeck, Social Tables, and 22 Miles software
Job Duties
- Advise and counsel clients on event details and logistics
- Gather and organize all pertinent event information such as agenda, labor, electrical, and security needs
- Respond to client inquiries or direct them to appropriate internal departments
- Communicate operational procedures, policies, rules, and deadlines to clients and service partners
- Quote prices for operational and labor services beyond the Event License Agreement
- Provide timely and clear communication of requirements to operational teams
- Process last-minute client changes and alert relevant internal departments
- Be present during event execution and serve as manager on duty
- Coordinate with finance on event invoicing
- Prepare and distribute detailed event documents to clients and internal teams
- Maintain documentation of contracts and correspondence
- Update and input information into sales account systems
- Prepare room diagrams and final event settlements
- Meet with internal departments and hold pre-event meetings
- Attend departmental meetings and perform duties assigned by the Director of Event Services
