Job Description

Buyers Edge Platform is a technology-enabled procurement and data platform that serves the foodservice industry, specializing in empowering operators, distributors, and manufacturers to make smarter purchasing decisions through data-driven insights and strategic sourcing solutions. This dynamic company provides innovative solutions that transform how foodservice businesses operate by bringing scale, transparency, and innovation to a sector often characterized by fragmentation. With a portfolio that is rapidly expanding across the United States and globally, Buyers Edge Platform is committed to operational excellence, collaboration, and delivering measurable business impacts for its customers. The firm is recognized for its strong commitment to values such as agility, diversity, and solution-oriented thinking, creating an engaging and enjoyable work environment.

The Event Manager role at Buyers Edge Platform is a unique opportunity for an individual who thrives in a strategic and hands-on position that merges creativity, business acumen, and flawless execution. This role is hybrid, based in either the Lake Worth, Florida, or Waltham, Massachusetts offices, and involves travel to approximately eight annual events. The Event Manager is tasked with developing and executing a variety of new field-based event programs, managing existing client events, and supporting impactful company initiatives.

As part of their responsibilities, the Event Manager will build event concepts from the ground up, ensuring that the format, content, and attendee experience are meticulously designed to maximize engagement and value. They will take ownership of select existing events, overseeing all planning aspects, logistics, and the continuous improvement of these engagements. Collaboration is a key aspect of the role, as the Event Manager will work closely with internal teams such as sales, marketing, and leadership, as well as external vendors and sponsors to deliver events that align closely with business goals and client engagement strategies.

The role requires a balance of strategic thinking and creative problem-solving, with a strong emphasis on project management skills. This includes managing timelines, budgets, vendor relationships, and event logistics across multiple projects at various stages. The Event Manager will also be responsible for securing speakers, content contributors, and experiential elements that enhance the value and impact of each event. Additionally, the position includes on-site event management duties to ensure seamless execution and serves as a lead or supporting point of contact during program delivery.

Success in this position is defined by strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills, a high level of attention to detail, ownership mentality, and the ability to juggle the demands of building new programs while maintaining and improving existing ones. The successful candidate will demonstrate confidence in working with various stakeholders and possess budget management capabilities, including risk identification and cost control. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will exhibit a calm, adaptable, and solution-focused mindset during live event execution, ensuring that every event delivers a strong return on investment and reinforces the company’s mission to drive better economic outcomes for its foodservice stakeholders.
