Job Description

We are partnering with a leading nonprofit organization based in the San Francisco Bay Area that is dedicated to making a real and lasting impact within the community it serves. This nonprofit is known for its mission-driven approach, creating valuable programs and events that bring people together and foster meaningful connections. By joining this organization, you become part of a passionate team committed to furthering a cause that truly matters, contributing your expertise to help elevate their outreach and engagement efforts through well-executed, memorable events.

This role is for a Part-Time Event Planner working on a contract basis beginning in March 2026 and extending through June 2026. This position offers a unique opportunity for flexible, part-time engagement, with work up to 30 hours per week. The primary focus will be on designing and delivering two major events scheduled for March and June 2026. You will be instrumental in crafting every detail of these events, ensuring that they are organized, impactful, and seamless in execution. Being hands-on will be an essential aspect of this role, including travel to event locations in Sacramento and Los Angeles where you will oversee and manage the activities on-site.

You will have the chance to work independently, managing all facets of event planning from vendor relations, budgeting, and contract negotiation to logistics and coordination during the event weeks. This role will require superb organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a proactive attitude. In return, you will earn up to $50 per hour with the flexibility to balance your schedule around the event timeline. The organization values strong communication and collaboration but also encourages autonomy and ownership of your work.

This is an excellent role for an experienced event planner who relishes the challenge of creating meaningful, well-organized events that foster community and support a vital nonprofit mission. The position requires travel and availability to be onsite during critical event periods, offering an immersive and engaging experience. Whether you’re looking to expand your portfolio, contribute to a worthy cause, or work within a flexible contract role, this event planner opportunity offers both purpose and professional growth potential.
