This dedication ensures that clients receive world-class service, tailored to their unique event requirements.
The role of Director, Event Technology (SNE) at Encore is a pivotal leadership position accountable for meeting the revenue and profitability goals of assigned venue locations. This role operates with a strong focus on customer retention, service excellence, and operational efficiency within the event technology domain. The Director will oversee venue relationships, financial management, operational logistics, technical support, sales initiatives, customer service, and team development. They are tasked with managing a small team while orchestrating event technology delivery that aligns with Encore's world-class standards. The position reports to senior regional venue leadership and manages venue revenue ranging from $450,000 to $900,000. Entrusted with a broad scope, the Director ensures events run seamlessly, client expectations are exceeded, and the venue partnership is strengthened.
Core responsibilities include developing and sustaining strong client relationships at various organizational levels within the venue, acting as a critical escalation point to resolve event issues promptly, and contributing to strategic sales and business review presentations. The Director manages financial outcomes by controlling labor, sub-rental costs, and equipment operations while effectively utilizing financial and billing systems to forecast and meet Encore’s financial targets. Operational management duties encompass directing event setups, equipment handling, inventory control, and foreseeing challenges to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery.
Additionally, the Director must demonstrate strong technical aptitude to troubleshoot and resolve audio-visual equipment and software issues, occasionally serving as the sole onsite technician. Sales management involves crafting strategies to optimize per-event revenue, presenting compelling value propositions to clients, coordinating vendor and departmental collaboration, and maintaining updated customer data within the CRM system. Furthermore, the Director delivers superior customer service by consistently engaging with clients and venue teams, ensuring smooth event execution, and representing Encore’s professional brand standards.
An essential aspect of the role is people development—promoting a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement. The Director champions Encore’s core values, addresses team performance, manages human resource activities, delivers coaching, and supports diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, a minimum of three years in audio-visual roles, supervisory experience, and familiarity with live audio-visual environments. Proficiency in computer hardware/software, leadership skills, and a valid driver’s license are also required.

Physical demands include moderate to frequent lifting, standing, walking, and use of lifts and ladders. Encore provides competitive compensation ranging from approximately $38,979 to $50,666, with potential bonuses and overtime. The company is committed to employee well-being, offering comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment that values diversity and inclusion. This role offers a unique opportunity for experienced leaders to impact Encore’s success by driving operational excellence and superior event technology services at key venue locations.
