This part-time Event Coordinator role at the Spokane-Coeur d'Alene, ID store offers a dynamic opportunity to engage with customers in a lively retail setting. The position primarily involves planning, coordinating, and facilitating events within the Michaels store to provide a fun, stress-free, and memorable experience for guests of all ages, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes. The coordinator will demonstrate and instruct craft projects, perform activities such as face painting, and manage event add-ons like goody bags and balloons to company standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Retail or customer service experience required
- Experience working with children’s events preferred
- Strong communication skills including written and verbal
- Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others
- Ability to stand for long periods and move throughout the store
- Ability to bend, lift, carry, reach, and stretch regularly
- Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using ladder or similar equipment
- Must be available for nights, weekends, and early mornings
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for retail environment

Job Duties
- Plan and coordinate multiple events including children’s birthday parties and craft classes
- Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun and creative environment
- Demonstrate and instruct craft projects and perform activities like face painting
- Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards
- Communicate effectively with clients and store team members regarding events
- Complete administrative tasks including answering emails, phone calls, and paperwork
- Adjust plans based on client feedback and create backup plans
- Ensure client satisfaction and uphold cleanliness and safety standards
- Help customers shop and locate products while providing solutions
- Provide fast and friendly checkout experience
- Engage customers on rewards programs and complete enrollments
- Educate customers on Voice of Customer survey
- Assist with omnichannel processes like BOPIS and SFS
- Participate in truck unload, stocking, planogram processes, and merchandise recovery
- Support shrink and safety programs
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and company policies
- Interact positively and respectfully with customers and team members
- Cross-train in custom framing selling and production
- Participate in daily store cleanliness activities including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and restroom maintenance
- Perform other duties as assigned
