Job Description

Sheraton Grand Seattle is a distinguished luxury hotel located in the heart of downtown Seattle, Washington. As part of the Marriott International family, it offers guests extraordinary experiences through exceptional service and warm hospitality. With a rich legacy dating back to 1937, Sheraton has been a premier gathering place for travelers, business professionals, and event attendees in over 400 communities worldwide. This iconic hotel combines elegant accommodations with state-of-the-art amenities, meeting and banquet facilities, and a commitment to sustainability and guest satisfaction, making it a sought-after destination in the Pacific Northwest.

The role available at Sheraton Grand Seattle is that of a Banquet Coordinator/Host(ess), a full-time non-management position with a competitive pay rate of $29.12 per hour. The banquet coordinator serves as a vital liaison between the event guests, group coordinators, and the hotel's banquet and food and beverage teams. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset to ensure seamless execution of banquet events. The coordinator consults with group hosts prior to functions to make introductions and verify that all event arrangements are agreed upon and precisely followed.

Key responsibilities include reading and interpreting banquet event orders to gather comprehensive guest information, anticipate specific needs such as buffet setups or action stations, and address any special event requests proactively. The role also demands adherence to all company safety, security policies, and professional appearance standards. The banquet coordinator welcomes guests warmly, addresses service needs promptly, and fosters positive working relationships within the team to meet collective goals. Physical stamina is necessary for extended periods of standing, walking, and carrying objects up to 25 pounds, often in varied environments including narrow, confined, or uneven spaces.

The position is ideal for candidates who possess at least one year of related experience in food and beverage or banquet service roles, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and are eager to contribute to a high-performing hospitality team in a vibrant urban setting. Sheraton Grand Seattle places a strong emphasis on inclusivity, equal opportunity, and professional growth, offering comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, 401(k) retirement plans, employee discounts, and more. This role invites individuals who are passionate about delivering memorable guest experiences to join a respected brand with global reach and local charm.
