Job Description
The Catholic Community Foundation for Eastern South Dakota (CCFESD) is a respected nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering Christian stewardship and supporting the ministries of the Diocese of Sioux Falls, along with its 122 parishes throughout Eastern South Dakota. The Foundation plays a crucial role in nourishing the spiritual and communal life of the region by organizing impactful events and facilitating philanthropic efforts that sustain various charitable ministries. CCFESD embodies faith-driven service, connecting donors and communities with meaningful opportunities to contribute and grow in their spiritual mission.
As an Event Coordinator at CCFESD, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team that orchestrates a diverse portfolio of charitable events designed to engage donors, parishioners, and the broader community. This full-time, hourly, benefit-eligible role offers a unique chance to combine organizational expertise with a passion for faith-based service. Under the guidance of the Director of Special Events, you will provide essential administrative, logistical, and operational support to ensure each event runs smoothly and achieves its fundraising goals.
Your responsibilities will cover a wide scope—from meticulous data management utilizing the Foundant database system to hands-on day-of event coordination. You will facilitate participant registrations, process sponsorships and payments, handle invoicing and tax receipting, and produce detailed financial and event reports. Communication is a key part of the role, as you will execute participant outreach, confirmations, ticketing, and post-event correspondence while delivering warm, service-oriented support to all event attendees.
In addition, you will support event committees by preparing agendas, managing Zoom meetings, and taking minutes, as well as coordinating travel and accommodation logistics for staff and performers involved. Your proactive management of event logistics will include overseeing on-site registration, guest flow, vendor coordination, venue arrangements, and event décor, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for everyone involved.
The portfolio of events you will support includes prominent fundraisers such as the Gift of Hope Concert benefiting The Lourdes Center, the Bishop's Charity Fishing Tournaments supporting Seminarian Education, the Bishop Charity Golf Classic for Broom Tree Retreat Center, Taste the Goodness for the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House, the Bishop's Hunt for Newman Catholic Campus Ministries, the Notre Dame Football Experience Raffle, and Christmas at the Cathedral which supports various diocesan ministries. These events are vital to raising awareness, engaging the faithful, and generating crucial funds that sustain the charitable activities of the Diocese.
This role requires a detail-oriented, high-energy professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills. A deep commitment to the Catholic faith is essential, as well as the ability to effectively represent the Church’s teachings with professionalism and enthusiasm. Flexibility in schedule is necessary to accommodate extended hours during events, including evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight travel.
Joining CCFESD means becoming part of a vibrant philanthropic community where your efforts will directly support ministries that bring hope and service to countless individuals in Eastern South Dakota. Your work will be more than managing events—it will be a ministry that helps grow donor generosity and community impact through well-executed, meaningful experiences. If you are ready to make a difference through your talents and faith-based commitment, this role could be the perfect opportunity.
