Fairplex is a dynamic event and exhibition venue located in Pomona, California, renowned for hosting one of the largest county fairs in the United States, the Los Angeles County Fair. The role of the Event Coordinator is integral to the operations of the Event Management Department during the Los Angeles County Fair. This temporary position requires a highly organized, proactive individual capable of managing diverse responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. The Event Coordinator will assist the Events Management Team by supervising assignments, enforcing compliance with the Fair's Partner Manual, inspecting event setups and teardowns, and interacting directly with vendors, partners, and guests. This position demands exceptional communication skills, the ability to interpret operational guidelines, and a commitment to outstanding customer service, as the coordinator will be the face of the Fair during critical periods such as move-in and move-out days.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to use a 2-way hand-held radio
- physical ability to walk entire fairgrounds and stand for extended periods
- ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- capability to work in various weather conditions including heat, cold, or rain
- flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- availability to work every day of the L. A. County Fair
- reliable transportation to and from work

Job Duties
- Supervise assignments as directed by the Events Management Team
- enforce the terms of the L. A. County Fair Partner Manual
- inspect the set-up/tear-down and operations of various Fair activities for compliance with standards
- resolve vendor and guest problems and complaints that might arise
- greet partners at the gates and direct them to their booth areas during move in/out days
- maintain appearance and demeanor at all times when interacting with customers and Fair guests
- collaborate with the Special Events Manager on select fair events
- perform other duties as assigned
