Job Description

BallerTV is an innovative venture-backed startup dedicated to revolutionizing sports broadcasting by live-streaming youth tournaments across a wide range of sports. Founded with a vision to build the largest sports network globally, BallerTV has rapidly expanded since 2021, streaming over 350,000 youth tournaments and changing how grassroots sports are covered. Much like the early days of ESPN, this ambitious company is reshaping the sports media landscape by providing unparalleled access to live sports events, enabled by cutting-edge streaming technology and a passionate team of professionals who thrive in dynamic event environments.

This role is a unique opportunity for independent contractors who thrive on flexibility, excitement, and technology. As a part-time weekend contractor, candidates will have the privilege of working in some of the top sports venues within their state and may even have opportunities to travel to major tournaments. The position involves hands-on experience with advanced streaming equipment and software, offering a chance to be at the forefront of live event production in basketball, soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, football, wrestling, and more.

Contractors are responsible for setting up and managing the BallerTV streaming systems at different courts or fields, ensuring the steady broadcast of sporting events, and troubleshooting any technical issues that arise. This role requires physical stamina as it entails regular lifting of heavy equipment, long hours on the feet, and working under fast-paced conditions with a sense of urgency. Working hours typically span weekends, including potential early mornings and late evenings, and may require travel up to 40 miles one way. The role pays $18 per hour, and shifts can extend over 12 hours for a single day or over 30 hours across a weekend tournament.

Ideal candidates are local to the specified city and have a reliable vehicle to transport event equipment. They must be available for full shifts during scheduled event weekends and adaptable to fluctuating schedules, choosing which events to cover. The position also demands professionalism, a positive attitude, proficient multitasking abilities, and familiarity with iOS devices. A background check is a mandatory prerequisite.

Preferred candidates have experience in live event production, sports-related roles, or customer-facing positions. Additionally, knowledge or interest in grassroots sports such as soccer, basketball, and lacrosse will add to the candidate’s strength. This contractor role offers the unique chance to combine a love for live sports with professional responsibilities, providing a rewarding and engaging work experience that contributes to the future of sports broadcasting.

Overall, BallerTV offers an exciting pathway for individuals seeking a non-traditional work arrangement with flexibility, the chance to develop technical skills, and the opportunity to be part of an expanding company reshaping sports media. Prospective contractors who are passionate about sports, technology, and live events will find this role both fulfilling and stimulating.
