The Meet Group Coordinator/Host(ess) role is an integral part of the banquet services team at Marriott Hotels. This position requires interaction with guests, ensuring that event details are perfectly executed according to banquet event orders. The coordinator serves as an essential liaison between the event organizers, guests, and the banquet staff, making introductions, reviewing arrangements, and assisting with special requests. They are responsible for verifying setup specifications such as buffet arrangements, action stations, and guest needs, actively responding to and fulfilling any special event arrangements while maintaining compliance with company policies.
In addition to a strong guest service orientation, the role emphasizes attention to safety and security rules, reporting of incidents or unsafe conditions, and completion of required training. Physical demands include standing, walking, and moving items up to 25 pounds, as well as navigating varying environments such as stairways and confined spaces. The ideal candidate will uphold Marriott's service standards by greeting guests warmly, anticipating and meeting their needs, and maintaining professional communication skills. They must also support team efforts, adhere to quality standards, and protect company assets. Job Duties
- Meet group coordinator/host(ess) prior to functions and ensure all arrangements are agreeable
- read and analyze banquet event order to gather guest information and determine proper setup and timeline
- respond to and fulfill special banquet event arrangements
- follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
- welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards and anticipate their service needs
- speak with others using clear and professional language and answer telephones with appropriate etiquette
- develop and maintain positive working relationships and support team goals
- visually verify information and inspect equipment to identify defects
- stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors
