Job Description
City Winery is a unique and vibrant establishment that combines a fully functioning winery with intimate concert experiences, food and wine classes, private events, and fine dining. Since its founding in 2008 by music industry veteran Michael Dorf, City Winery has been revolutionizing the live music and hospitality scene by bringing the wine country experience right into the heart of a bustling city. The venue offers a compelling mix designed for sophisticated clientele including food lovers, wine enthusiasts, and culturally engaged patrons who appreciate a seamless blend of music, culinary arts, and exceptional hospitality. City Winery’s commitment to sustainability and quality is evident in its award-winning, locally produced wines that consistently receive ratings of 90+ points, alongside world-class live performances and a diverse events calendar. The establishment prides itself on being more than just a restaurant or music venue; it is a dynamic workplace where community, creativity, and the philosophy of true hospitality come to life.
We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join the City Winery team as Event Captains. This role is an exciting opportunity for professionals looking to advance their careers in event operations management within the unique environment where wine, food, and live entertainment intersect. As an Event Captain at City Winery, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the day-to-day logistics of onsite events, working closely with the Manager on Duty (MOD) to ensure flawless execution of the Banquet Event Orders (BEO). Your responsibilities will include collaborating with the culinary team, wine department, front of house managers, and the event sales team to guarantee that every detail meets or exceeds the expectations of our clients and guests.
Your role will be hands-on, involving not just planning and coordination but also participating actively in food and beverage service as outlined by the MOD. You will maintain high hospitality standards, troubleshoot challenges with grace, and foster positive relationships with clients, vendors, and each team member to secure lasting impressions. City Winery Event Captains are valued for their exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and impeccable customer service, contributing to a memorable experience that drives customer loyalty and business growth. This position demands a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, and requires physical stamina for extended periods on your feet and the ability to handle physical demands like lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. Fluency in English and proficiency in basic business-related mathematics, including POS operation, are essential for success in this role.
Joining City Winery means becoming a part of a community that values diversity and equal opportunity, fostering an inclusive workplace where each individual's background and perspectives are respected and celebrated. Through the E-Verify program participation and adherence to fair employment practices, City Winery ensures legal compliance and ethical standards across its locations. If you are passionate about delivering exceptional hospitality and have a background in event operations management or relevant experience, this is your opportunity to be part of an innovative company setting new standards in the intersection of culinary and cultural experiences.
