Old Falls Street is a vibrant and historic location in Niagara Falls, renowned for hosting a wide array of special events and activities that attract both locals and tourists alike. As a key social and cultural hub within the city, Old Falls Street offers a rich experience filled with entertainment, dining, and live events, often set against the stunning backdrop of the famous Niagara Falls. This bustling area is managed and maintained by a dedicated team focused on creating a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees and visitors. From festivals and concerts to holiday celebrations and community gatherings, Old Falls Street plays a crucial role in promoting tourism and local engagement in Niagara Falls. The management team is committed to ensuring that every event runs smoothly, adhering to all safety protocols and customer service standards to provide a memorable and secure experience for all guests.
The part-time Event Associate position reporting directly to the Director and Manager of Special Events is an integral role within the operations team at Old Falls Street. This role focuses primarily on the safe and responsible serving of alcoholic beverages as well as other event-related tasks during various functions. The Event Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting atmosphere in their assigned area, contributing to the overall guest experience. Given that events often take place during evenings, weekends, and holidays, the schedule for this position is non-standard and requires flexibility from the candidate.
This role is not only about service but also acting as an ambassador for Old Falls Street and the City of Niagara Falls. The Event Associate provides friendly and informative responses to inquiries, helping to foster a welcoming environment. Key duties include serving beer, working point of sale stations, managing admissions, checking IDs and wristbands to ensure compliance with legal drinking age regulations, and maintaining proper cash handling procedures at all times. Safety is paramount in this role, requiring adherence to all Old Falls Street policies, procedures, and safety rules, as well as the employee manual. Beyond these core responsibilities, the Event Associate may perform other administrative or service functions as needed during events, showcasing a diverse and dynamic job scope. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced event environment, possess excellent multitasking skills, and have a strong commitment to safety and customer service. Being able to refuse service when necessary demonstrates a responsible approach to alcohol service, further ensuring the safety and well-being of all guests.
