The Room Attendant position is an essential role within our housekeeping department, critical to ensuring that every guest room meets our hotel's exacting standards for cleanliness and comfort. This role demands attention to detail, efficiency, and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction. Room Attendants are responsible for cleaning and servicing guest rooms thoroughly according to established hotel protocols. Duties include making beds, changing linens, replenishing towels and amenities like soap, shampoo, water, and coffee, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring all bathroom areas are spotless and well-stocked. The position requires vigilance in identifying maintenance issues such as lighting, plumbing, or heating and cooling system problems and reporting them promptly to the appropriate department. Maintaining respect for guest privacy is paramount, including strict adherence to "Do Not Disturb" signage policies. The Room Attendant also supports the hotel’s lost and found procedures, restocks housekeeping carts, and keeps storage areas organized and safe.

In addition to routine cleaning tasks, the Room Attendant must be ready to deliver requested items to guests courteously and professionally. They must use personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling cleaning chemicals and adhere strictly to safety and sanitation guidelines outlined by Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Compliance with hotel security measures, fire regulations, and health and safety legislation is mandatory to ensure a safe environment for both guests and staff. The role occasionally involves assisting other departments to maintain smooth hotel operations and fostering good working relationships within the team. Job Requirements

  • Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel environment highly desired
  • ability to communicate verbally and in writing to follow job duties
  • ability to work varied schedule as necessary including weekends and holidays
  • must tolerate prolonged periods of standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, and climbing stairs
  • must tolerate exposure to cleaning solutions
  • must be able to push up to 75 pounds, lift and carry up to 25 pounds
