Job Requirements

high school diploma or equivalent preferred
demonstrable experience as a porter or similar
valid driver's license and a good driving record
working knowledge of basic car maintenance would be advantageous
ability to assume responsibility for the valuable property of customers and the dealership
willingness to learn and to perform a wide range of allocated tasks
ability to take accurate notes regarding vehicle movements and vehicle conditions
excellent communication and interpersonal skills
willingness to work irregular business hours including evening hours weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

work with maintenance coordinator to prioritize vehicle maintenance repairs
assist maintenance coordinator with strategic maintenance plans and budgeting
maintain accurate activity and all applicable records of vehicle related documents
monitor and follow maintenance schedules
perform maintenance repairs within scope of skills on vehicles and other machinery when necessary
coordinate transportation to and from repair shops
coordinate the picking up of supplies for repairs
preparation and coordination of all inspections of vehicles
ensure all vehicles maintain a clean and professional look in the interior and exterior
ensure all vehicles are safe to be operated on the road
keep supervisor informed of status and inform team of any significant issues on a timely basis
coordinate with other maintenance technicians about their maintenance programs
keep good working relations with local vendors and other business partners
communicate with local and statewide transportation providers to be up to date on programs and tools for maintenance
